Ronald William Turley
Ronald William Turley, 81, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 25, , at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, MD. He was the beloved husband of his surviving spouse, Frances Turley, for 59 years.
Ron was born to the late Florence (Harman) Folk on June 16, , in West Virginia. He was a graduate of Frederick High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Petty Officer from November to April , as an air traffic controller. Ronald was a was a member of the American Legion, Post #11, serving in various positions, including the Commander, from He was also a member of the VFW Post # and was the President for 10 years. Ron worked as an air traffic controller in Leesburg Virginia for 30 years and after retiring was an independent insurance agent for about 25 years.

Richard E. Turley Jr. was named as the new managing director of the Public Affairs Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 26,
Prior to his appointment, he served for eight years as assistant Church historian and recorder. He also served for eight years as managing director of the Family and Church History Department, overseeing the Church Archives and Records Center, the Church History Library, and the Museum of Church History and Art, which collectively contain the world’s largest collection of resources for the study of Latter-day Saint history and one of the richest collections on the settlement of the western United States.

Ronald W. Turley of Nicholson passed away Monday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart with his loving family by his side.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Bernice Turley of East Benton, Pa. Ron served in the United States Naval Construction Battalions SEVEN, better known as the Seabees, proudly serving his country for several overseas tours. Before his retirement, he had a lengthy career in the construction industry, previously employed by Dorsan Inc., Honesdale, Pa. and Resorts USA.
Ron is survived by two sons, Jason Turley and Jonathan Turley, both of Nicholson; stepdaughter, Ronda Beemer and husband, David Beemer, Clarks Green, Pa.; stepson, Scott Middlekauff and partner, Kathy Huggins-McGovern, Lester, Pa.; a sister, Judy Darko and husband, Ken Darko, Kingsport, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a son, Justin Turley; and former wife, Faye Royce-Turley.
