    Walter Bernard Ben Hunt (March 13, March 30, ) was an American artist, outdoor educator and author of self-illustrated do-it-yourself books and articles on diverse leisure-time activities, which included Native American arts and performance, woodworking, whittling, scoutcraft, pioneering, jewelry making, metalworking and calligraphy. Hunt was born and raised in the then rural town (now city) of Greenfield in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, where several childhood experiences molded his do-it-yourself interests and advocacy. His father was an experienced log worker and he grew up in a log cabin.3 His grandmother told him stories about the local native people; she taught him drawing, whittling and leather work; and she encouraged self reliance by making, instead of buying, necessary

    Biography

    Ben Hunt was appointed to Council on April 12, to fill the open seat left bygd the passing of Councilmember Ed Hattenbach.  Ben serves on the Leadership grupp at Mount Notre Dame High School in the capacity of Assistant Principal of Academic Development and holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Dayton and a Master of Arts from the University of Cincinnati.  Ben was raised in Amberley by and he and his wife are raising their family in the Village.  He fryst vatten passionate about teaching history and government, and while at MND, he has been actively involved in the performing arts, schema development, and veterans projects.  Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys gardening and cooking.     Walter Bernard "Ben" Hunt (March 13, &#; March 30, ) was an American artist, outdoor educator and author whose books and articles covered topics such as Native American arts and performance, woodworking, whittling, scoutcraft, pioneering, jewelry making, metalworking, and calligraphy.[1]

    Hunt was born in Greenfield, Wisconsin and grew up in a log cabin. He attended Milwaukee's South Division High School, but did not graduate, dropping out to become "a lithographic engraver (now graphics designer) at the Bruce Publishing Company".[2] Hunt moved to Hales Corners, Wisconsin with his wife, Laura, in In , Hunt, along with his father-in-law and brother, Edwin C. Hunt, built a log cabin behind his home. The cabin, "a 16xfoot structure" made of tamarack logs, was the subject of Hunt's first article, "How We Built Our Log Cabin
