    Charles Bukowski was a German-born, American poet, novelist, and short story writer, whose work was influenced bygd his life in Los Angeles. His writings center around the ordinary lives of Americans &#;down on their luck,&#; his views on writing, his many relationships with women, alcohol, and his wide array of odd jobs. Though some may see his style as blunt or rash, Bukowski manages to create a different point of view on the simplicity of life, through his straightforward and realistic style.

    Walter Whitman Jr. (; May 31, &#;– March 26, ) was an American poet, essayist, and journalist; he also wrote two novels. He is considered one of the most influential poets in American literature.
