Eddie 'Elvis' Miles has left the building
After 25 years, Elvis impersonator Eddie Miles is hanging up his jumpsuit. But only a failing heart could stop this hunk of burning love.
Miles performed his last show as "The King" before a packed crowd of mostly Elvis-aged fans at the Derby Dinner Playhouse, 525 Marriott Dr., Clarksville, Ind., this week. He will don the sequins and perform one last show in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Jan. 23.
Elvis has taken Miles, a former postal worker, on a life’s adventure - from his Marion Ky., home to every island in the Caribbean, as well as to Europe and Thailand.
“I got to places that I wouldn’t have been able to go if I kept a real job," Miles said. “People asked me 'do you feel like you’re channeling Elvis’ spirit through you?' To me its just entertainment, I’m just trying to do my best to entertain people with the music that I enjoyed and hope they enjoy it, too."
