Landecker Fellow Farah Abdi is a Somalia-born author and activist. Recently, she was selected as the laureate of the Torschreiber Fellowship
Torschreiber am Pariser Platz is a fellowship program for writers in exile offered by Allianz Kulturstiftung and the Stiftung Brandenburger Tor. The fellowship enables one selected author to work on their own literary projects of choice for the period of six months. The foundations aim to help the fellow network with the city’s literary life. In consultation with the author, an individual side program of events is further developed, including readings and cultural encounters.

Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas[1] (Somali: Cabdiweli Maxamad Cali Gaaspronounced[ʕabdiwelimaħamadʕaligaːs]; Arabic: عبدالولي محمد علي گاس; English pronunciationⓘ), also more known as Abdiweli Gaas,[1][2] is a Somali American economist and politician. He served as the Prime Minister of Somalia from June to October , and briefly afterwards as an MP in the newly formed Federal Parliament. During his time as premier, Ali is credited with having devised the formal "Roadmap for the End of Transition", a political process that provided clear benchmarks leading toward the establishment of permanent democratic institutions in the country. On 8 January , he was elected the 5th President of the Puntland.
