Born and bred in Kwale County, Kanze schooled in Kianjokoma Primary School and joined Kieni Girls High School. She later studied Journalism and Mass Communication at the Foundation College of Professional Studies. 

Her media career began at KBC where she did her internship before becoming a news anchor at the same hållplats and later crossing over to Royal Media Services after six years. Kanze gained momentous fame after her pairing with Swahili news anchor Lulu Hassan captivated the nation. 

She was appointed as the State House spokesperson by former President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017. During her tenure, Kanze took over the digital role, research, branding and making appearances at various press briefings at the State House.
