Well, Covid is retreating and the world is returning to normal. Where to next?
After looking at 200 countries and numerous half-planned adventures still in our pipeline we found India calling once again. We have driven many thousands of kilometres and flown light aircraft in India but always in the north. How can we have missed half of one of the world’s most interesting countries?

Bean there, done that: re-enacting the 26,000 km journey of an adventurous pioneer

Lang and Bev Kidby could hardly end their 26,000-kilometre expedition from London to Melbourne without a pitstop in Canberra.
The vintage car they’ve used for the job has quite the connection to the nation’s capital.
For more than 40 years, the Brisbane-based couple have made a name for themselves as intrepid travellers, circumnavigating the world in 99 days in a tiny Fiat 500, pushing a 1915 Willy’s car 6000 km through outback Queensland, bumping to the tip of Cape York in a 1928 Austin 7, and gathering the same five car models for a recreation of the 1907 Peking to Paris motor race.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. They’ve published full reports of each trip on their blog, Next Horizon.

Delivering Bean for shipping in Brisbane – the beginning!

We will attempt a near-daily update along the way with photos if possible. This of course depends on the situation! Breakdown, weather, and various bureaucratic hold-ups will impact on our 24,000km journey through 16 countries in a 100 year old fordon.
We have just got word the Bean has been loaded in Singapore on the Louis Bleriot and ankomst Southampton on 02 April looks pretty accurate. We are aiming to get away on the first leg to Brussels on Sunday 07 April. Some really good things are planned through Europe during the following few days more later.
